  • For Instructors and Learners the registration on the Final Master Thesis defense management website
  • For any type of visitor, the visualization of the public calendar of the defenses of the final Master's Theses
  • For Instructors, the election of the Committees of which they will form part
  • For Learners, the agreement of the defense of their final Master's Thesis
Legitimation
  • For Learners, the realization of a mission in public interest established in the article 1.1 of the Organic Law of Universities
  • For Instructors the execution of a contract signed with one of the member institutions, as stated in the Master agreement
  • For the rest of the visitors, the consent of the interested party, freely given by accepting this Policy and using this application
Recipients No communications are foreseen, except those made to the subjects legally foreseen in fulfillment of legal obligations
Rights of interested parties You can withdraw your consent at any time and exercise your right of access, modification, suspension, opposition not to be subject to individual automated decisions, portability and limitation, by sending an email to fuoc_pd@uoc.edu attaching a photocopy of the DNI or document proving your identity.

Additional information on personal data protection

Who is responsible for the processing of personal data?

The processing of personal data collected through this form will be the responsibility of the Foundation for the Open University of Catalonia (hereinafter, UOC), with NIF G60667813 and registered office located at Avinguda del Tibidabo, 39- 43, Barcelona (Spain). If you have any questions about the processing of personal information, you can contact the Data Protection Officer, via email dpd@uoc.edu.


For what purposes will your personal data be processed? For how long?

The data of Learners and Instructors is treated in order to realize the registration as users in the application for the management of public defense of the Master final thesis.

In any case, the data of any user of the application will be treated to allow the use of the application and view the calendar of public defenses.

If you are Instructor of the master, your data will be used in order to be able to choose the committees you will be part of.

If you are Learner of the master, the purpose of processing your personal data is to manage and communicate the time slot and committee for the defense of your final thesis.

Once the indicated purposes have been completed, the UOC will retain the personal data for the necessary period to accomplish with the legal obligations that may derive legal responsibilities relating to the purposes carried out. When such responsibilities expire, personal data will be permanently deleted.


What is the legitimacy for data processing?

Legitimation for the treatment of Learner's data is carrying out a mission in the public interest provided in Article 1.1 of the Organic Law of Universities; with regard to the legitimacy for the processing of the data provided by the Instructors, the execution of a contract signed with one of the member institutions, as stated in the Master agreement; and the legitimacy for the processing of the data of any other visiting user, is the consent freely given through the acceptance of this Privacy Policy.

In any case, you can withdraw the consent you have given through the means indicated in the section "What are my rights?" of this document.


What security measures have been implemented to protect personal data?

The UOC will treat personal data in an absolutely confidential manner. It has also implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure their security and prevent their illegal destruction, loss, access or alteration. In determining such measures, criteria such as the scope, context and purposes of the treatment, the state of the art and the existing risks have been taken into account.


Does the UOC communicate your personal data to third parties?

The UOC may communicate your personal data to third parties if necessary to comply with the corresponding legal obligations, if applicable.


Are there other entities that may have access to your personal data to assist the UOC with any of the tasks relating to the purposes of the processing?

The UOC has several providers that assist it in carrying out different tasks related to the processing of their personal data.


What are your rights?

Without prejudice to the exercise of your rights before the Data Controller, you may at any time file a complaint with the competent authority to defend your data protection rights through the website www.apdcat.gencat.cat.


To exercise these rights, all you have to do is send us a communication to the Foundation from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya , either by e-mail to fuoc_pd@uoc.edu or by post to Avinguda Tibidabo 39-43, Barcelona, with the reference "Data protection". The application must contain a copy of your DNI or other equivalent identification document, as well as the minimum content provided for in the applicable regulations. If the application does not meet the specified requirements, you may be required to amend it. The exercise of these rights is free, although a fee may be charged when applications are unfounded, excessive or repetitive.
